Cable Car Barn and Museum
Displays in the museum include cable car parts, historic photographs and an earthquake exhibit. All cable car lines pass within three blocks of the building.

Hours: The Museum is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Admission Price: Free
Bus Transportation: From either the California or Pacific Campus take the #1 bus east. Exit the bus on Mason St. Walk one block north to Washington St. From the Davies Campus, take the #24 traveling north to the #1. Follow the above directions from there.

California Palace of the Legion of Honor
One of the most striking museum buildings in the United States. The Museum houses 4,000 years worth of ancient and European art, including works by El Greco, Rubens, Rembrant, Steen, van Gogh and Monet.
Location: Lincoln Park at Clement St. and 34th Ave.

Hours: The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Admission Price: Adults $10, Seniors $7, Youth 13-17 $6, Children under 12 Free. General Admission is Free on Tuesday.
Bus Transportation: From either the California or Pacific Campus take the #1 bus to 33rd Ave. Exit the bus on 33rd Ave. and board the #18 bus traveling west. Exit the bus in front of the Museum. From the Davies Campus, take the #24 traveling north to the #1. Follow the above directions from there.

The Jewish Museum of San Francisco
The Jewish Museum of San Francisco is dedicated to arts and education programs that nurture Jewish life and fight anti-Semitism and other forms of prejudice.
Location: 121 Steuart St. between Mission and Howard Sts

Hours: Sunday through Thursday 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Free public tours on Sunday and Wednesday at 12:30 p. m.
Admission Price: Adults $5, Students & Seniors $4, Children under 12 Free. Admission is free the third Monday of every month.
Bus Transportation: From either the California or Pacific Campus take the #1 bus traveling east. Exit the bus at the Embarcadero Center and walk Northeast toward the Ferry Building clock tower. Turn right on Stuart and travel about one and one half blocks to the museum entrance. From the Davies Campus, take the #24 traveling north to the #1. Follow the above directions from there.

The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art
The West Coast's first and most comprehensive modern art museum, designed by architect Mario Botta and build in 1995. The museum exhibits include photography, painting and sculpture, architecture and design, and avant-garde multimedia installations.

Admission Price: : Adults $12.50, Seniors age 62 and older $8, Student $7, Children under 12 Free, Thursday evenings 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. half price admission, First Tuesday of each month is Free.
Bus Transportation: From either the California or Pacific Campus take the #1 bus traveling east. Exit the bus at Stockton St. and board the #30 traveling south. Exit the bus at the museum entrance. From the Davies Campus, take the #24 traveling north to the #1. Follow the above directions from there.

Mission Dolores
The mission was built in 1776 and is San Francisco's oldest building. There is a chapel, small museum and a cemetery where many notable San Franciscans lie. Mass is still held every Sunday in the parish church.

Suggested Donation: $2 General, $1 Students 6-17, Free for children 5 years and under.
Bus Transportation: From the California Campus take the #1 bus traveling east, from the Pacific Campus take the #1 traveling west. Exit the bus on Fillmore St. and take the #22 bus traveling south. Exit the bus at 16th St and Dolores one half block from the mission. From the Davies Campus, take the #24 traveling north to the #1. Follow the above directions from there.

Coit Tower
Built as a memorial to city's volunteer firefighters, Coit Tower is one of San Francisco's most recognizable landmarks. The lobby was painted during the Depression by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) with murals depicting California life.
Location: on Telegraph Hill Blvd. south of Lombard St.

Hours: The tower is open daily 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Admission Price: No charge for evening murals on the 1st floor. Elevator ride to the top of the tower costs $3.
Bus Transportation: From either the California or the Pacific Campus take the #1 bus traveling East. Exit the bus at Stockton St. and board the #30 traveling north. Exit the bus at Washington Square Park and board the #39 traveling northeast. Exit the bus at the tower. From the Davies Campus, take the #24 traveling north to the #1. Follow the above directions from there.

The Octagon House
The Octagon House is an eight-sided house built in 1861 on the belief that octagonal dwellings promoted good health. The house is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Hours: The Octagon House is open the 2nd and 4th Thursday and the 2nd Sunday of each month noon until 3:00 p.m.

Bus Transportation: From the California Campus take the #1 bus traveling east, from the Pacific Campus take the #1 bus traveling west exit the bus on Fillmore St and board the #22 bus traveling south. Exit the bus on Union St. and board either the #45 or the #4 bus traveling east. Exit the bus at Gough St. near the house. From the Davies Campus, take the #24 traveling north to the #1. Follow the above directions from there.

San Francisco Zoo
The San Francisco Zoo, built in 1929, has approximately 1,000 exotic, endangered and domestic animals on exhibit. Gorilla World, The Primate Center, the Feline Conservation Center and the Children's Zoo are just a few of the highlights.
Location: Near Ocean Beach on Sloat Blvd. and 45th Ave.

Hours: The zoo is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Admission Price: $11 general, $8 seniors age 65 and over and students ages 12-17, $5 children ages 3-11, free for children under 2 years of age. For San Francisco residents: $8 general, $3.50 ages 12-17, $1.50 ages 3-11, $3.50 age 65 and over. Free admission on the first Wednesday of each month.
Bus Transportation: From either the California or Pacific Campus take the #1 traveling west. Exit on Park Presidio Blvd. and board the #28 bus traveling south. Exit the bus on Sloat Blvd. and board the #23 bus traveling west. Exit the bus across the street from the zoo at 45th Ave. From the Davies Campus, take the #24 traveling north to the #1. Follow the above directions from there.

Basic Brown Bear Factory and Store
One of the last remaining stuffed animal factories in the United States. At the Brown Bear Factory you can tour the cutting and sewing areas and even make your very own teddy bear.

Bus Transportation: Take the #1 to the corner of Presidio and California, then the 43 to Chestnut and Fillmore. Board the #30 and ride to Columbus Ave and Bay Street.


The Exploratorium
One of the world's most innovative hands-on science museums. Explore the magic of all five senses through more than 650 hands-on exhibits.
Location: In the Palace of Fine Arts at 3601 Lyon St. between Marina Blvd and Lombard St.

Hours: The science museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Admission Price: Adults $13, Students, Disabled and Seniors over 65 $10, Youth 13 to 17 $10, Children 4 to 12 $8, Children 3 and under Free. First Wednesday of each month is Free.
Bus Transportation: From either the California or Pacific Campus take the #1 bus traveling east. Exit the bus on Stockton St and board the #30 traveling north. Exit the bus at the museum. From the Davies Campus, take the #24 traveling north to the #1. Follow the above directions from there.

San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park
This park contains a collection of 19th century merchant ships docked at the Hyde Street Pier and a museum exhibit of photos, films, charts and models relating to the merchant sailing industry.
Location: At the western end of Fisherman's Wharf from the Aquatic Park to the Hyde Street Pier

Hours: The maritime museum is open daily from 10:00 am to 5:00 p.m.

Bus Transportation:
From either the California or Pacific Campus take the #1 bus traveling east. Exit the bus on Polk St. and board the #19 bus traveling north. Exit at either the entrance to the Maritime Museum or the entrance to the Hyde St. Pier. They are two blocks apart. From the Davies Campus, take the #24 traveling north to the #1. Follow the above directions from there.

Aquarium of the Bay
Location: Pier 39, the Embarcadero at Beach St.

Bus Transportation: From the California Campus and Pacific Campus take the #1 bus going east. Exit bus on Polk St. and board the #19 bus traveling north. Exit the Northpoint St. and board the #47 bus. Exit at Embarcadero. Pier 39 is walking distance to the north. From the Davies Campus take the N-Judah Metro going west. Exit Embarcadero Station. Board the F Market & Wharves on Embarcadero St. going north. Exit Pier 39.
