Women's Health Resource Center Art Space
Currently on View at ArtSpace@WHRC:
ARTSPACE@WHRC is pleased to feature Referring to Rembrandt, an installation of forty mixed-media paintings on panel arranged specifically for the hallway of the Women’s Health Resource Center. The highly abstract work incorporates images from Rembrandt’s etching Landscape with Three Trees. Oil and latex paint are brushed, blended, dripped, rubbed, scrubbed and screen-printed in a quiet palette of gray greens and muted blues, resulting in an engaging yet deeply mysterious landscape. The panels can be viewed individually or as a continuous painting as the viewer moves through the hallway. Either way, the subtle beauty of Referring to Rembrandt invites thoughtful consideration and quiet reflection. For more information about viewing times please contact the Center at 415-600-0500.
About the Space
The goal of the Women’s Health Resource Center’s Art Space is to create a welcoming environment for patients and staff, and to provide a venue for local artists to share their work with the community. WHRC hosts approximately three shows per year. We invite all artists to apply, with special consideration given to exhibits with a cohesive concept and that provide a welcoming subject for our clients.
