Breast Health Education
Becoming comfortable and confident in breast self-examination is a potentially lifesaving tool. The Breast Health Center at California Pacific offers two ways to learn breast self-examination: individual instruction and our community education program.
Individual Breast Self-Examination Instruction
We understand that breast self-examination can be confusing. Individualized instruction is offered in a private one-hour session with a breast health nurse specialist. Women are given a thorough clinical breast examination. Practicing with their own breasts as well as silicon breast models, women are taught to differentiate between normal breast lumpiness and a lump which requires further investigation. This service is by appointment only and a fee is charges. This fee may be covered by insurance. For more information please call 415-600-6420.
Community Education Program
A special community education program titled Breast Health: A Positive, Proactive Program is available for community groups. Our Breast Health Nurse Specialist presents an exciting, multimedia production incorporating up-to-date medical information in an easy to understand non-threatening environment. The program is free of charge and is offered through a generous grant by the Lin Notkin Paterson Memorial Fund. For more information or to reserve this program please call 415-600-6420.
