Community Support

It is reasonable to experience concerns about the new environment you will be facing. These challenges are not unique. Many people in similar circumstances have joined together to provide support and encouragement. A list of Support Groups in your community will be made available to you.

Ethics Committee

Our Ethics Committee, comprised of physicians, nurses, chaplains, and other health care professionals, assists patients and their family in resolving issues that can arise in health care. Patients may ask to be referred to our Ethics Committee to assist in exploring and resolving the complex issues. Contact our Patient Relations Department for referral 415-600-6634. Group Therapy

During rehabilitation treatment, it may be appropriate for patients to participate in group therapies. These groups may include gait therapy, wheelchair exercise, patient/family education, pool therapy, community living skills, exercise groups, cognitive and communication skills groups, and therapeutic recreation activities. Group activities offer an opportunity to build on the skills patients have acquired in individual therapy.

Outpatient Rehabilitation Services

Rehabilitation may not end at the time of discharge. The rehabilitation team may recommend that patients complete their rehabilitation process in one of our outpatient programs.

Pastoral Care

If you are in need of Pastoral services during your stay, you may wish to contact your own minister. We can help you locate a minister of your denomination. We also have a chaplain on staff through the Institue for Health & Healing's Spiritual Care program.

Patient Satisfaction

We strive to provide high quality care in a clean, safe, attractive environment while treating you and your family with dignity and respect. We are very interested in how you and your family feel about the care we deliver. If an issue comes up during your stay, please speak with any member of your rehabilitation team or call our Patient Relations Representative at 415-600-6634.

Therapeutic Passes

To benefit your rehabilitation progress, carefully arranged therapeutic passes may be arranged. Otherwise known as a Day-Pass, these activities are pre-approved, time-limited events away from the facility. Arranged with your loved-ones, passes allow patients time away from the rehabilitation center before returning full-time to their home communities.
