About the Center for Advance Lung Therapies
Each year, more than 400,000 people die of lung disease in the United States, making it the 3rd most common cause of death -- a number that is rapidly growing, according to the American Lung Association. It is estimated that nearly 35 million people in the U.S. have a form of chronic lung disease and these diseases are usually progressive. Living with chronic lung disease can be extremely challenging for patients. For these patients, California Pacific Medical Center has established the Center for Advanced Lung Therapies.
This comprehensive, multidisciplinary center is comprised of multiple specialty clinics that combine the expertise of pulmonary physicians, thoracic surgeons, respiratory therapists, nurse specialists, radiologists and pathologists. California Pacific has a long history of being a national leader in the development of advanced treatment programs. We have state of the art facilities, including those in intensive care, respiratory care, bronchoscopy and radiology. We also have a staff with a broad range of expertise in the diagnosis and management of cystic fibrosis, advanced emphysema, pulmonary fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, lung transplantation and lung cancer.
Multidisciplinary specialty clinics focus on the care of each of these diseases have been designed to manage to the specific needs of these patient groups, including the use of specialists in respiratory therapy, nutrition, pharmacy, rehabilitation and social work.
