Dr. Louie completed his undergraduate education, Phi Beta Kappa, at Tufts University. He attended medical school at University of Michigan, receiving his M.D. in 1980. Dr. Louie completed his surgery internship, orthopaedic surgery residency and a fellowship in tramua/orthopaedics at the University of California San Francisco.
He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Medical Association, as well as the Western Orthopaedic Association where he has served as a member of the Board of Directors, First Vice President and President. In addition to being an active member of the staff at California Pacific Medical Center, Dr. Louie is an Associate Clinical Professor at UCSF.
