Christopher V. Cox, M.D. is a Board certified orthopedic surgeon. He specializes in total joint replacement surgeries, including hip replacement, knee replacement, and complicated revision total joint surgeries.
Dr. Cox received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 1982 from Lewis and Clark College in Oregon. At Lewis and Clark, he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He subsequently obtained his M.D. degree and his orthopedic specialty training at the University of California, San Francisco. He then completed a Fellowship in Adult Joint Replacement and Implant Surgery at the prestigious Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Southern California.
Dr. Cox has been in private practice in San Francisco since 1992. He has published numerous articles in the orthopedic literature. In addition to his orthopedic practice, he is involved in numerous community and hospital affairs. He is the Medical Director of the Joint Replacement Center at California Pacific Medical Center; chairs the Quality Assurance Committee for Orthopaedics, and is Vice-Chair of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery.
He has also served on the board of directors of the Western Orthopedic Association, Northern California Chapter, Leroy Abbott Society and the Patient Assistance Foundation. Dr. Cox is the past-President of the Western Orthopeadic Assoc, Northern California Chapter and has been a member of the Medical and Scientific Committee of the Arthritis Foundation, No. California Chapter.
