Dr. Callander specializes in hip and knee replacements with an emphasis in minimally invasive techniques. He received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and his medical degree from Saint Louis University. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the University of California, Davis and is fellowship trained in adult replacement and arthroscopy surgery at the Hospital For Special Surgery, Cornell University in New York City.
Dr. Callander has extensive clinical training and experience in all aspects of surgical and non-surgical management of arthritis of the hip and knee. His clinical interests include primary and complex total joint reconstruction, and minimally invasive techniques for total hip and knee replacements.
He has numerous publications and has made presentations on his area of specialty both regionally and nationally at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is active in clinical research with both implant designs and bearing surfaces. Dr. Callander currently serves as an orthopaedic consultant for the San Francisco Ballet.
