Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) training meets the requirements of the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education. The CPE program is a multicultural, interfaith professional training program in hospital chaplaincy and spiritual care, designed for people of all faiths headed into careers in hospital chaplaincy as well as those who are seeking to deepen their skills in the parish or other ministries.

Interns can do either a full-time residency for one year (4 units at 400 hours each) or a part-time unit (1 unit of 400 hours). We also offer CPE Supervisory Training and a program for summer internships. (At this time, we are not accepting applications for second year residency). Education takes place at California Pacific Medical Center. For more information:

The registration process begins with a written application and includes a personal interview. Call Susan Racheal Leeds at (415) 600-3741 or email for more information.
