Guided Imagery & Expressive Arts

Brian Dietrich, MA, MFT currently supervises the Guided Imagery and Expressive Arts education program at the Institute for Health & Healing in Marin. He completed his graduate studies at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), and is a Guided Imagery Specialist ceritified by the Academy for Guided Imagery. Brian specializes in the use of interactive imaginal techniques that access inner resources and wisdom as well as promote insight, understanding and a path to personal transformation.

Brian was the coordinator of HIV Services at Marin General Hospital, and later served as clinic psychotherapist for the Department of Health and Human Services Marin County Specialty Clinic. He worked for the University of California at San Francisco’s Center for AIDS Prevention Studies CHANGES Project, a five year study funded by the National Institute for Mental Health, teaching Coping Effectiveness Training (CET). His approach is psychodynamic integrating Jungian Analytic Psychology and other transpersonal approaches.
