Our New Community Center Opens in January

After 25 years, the Health & Healing Library is now closed, though it has partially reopened with a new, large studio for our classes. Also, the personalized health research service is still available allowing patients and family members to easily obtain the latest information on a specific illness or health condition.

Once the remodel of 2040 Webster is complete, the space will also house computers with access to medical databases and the internet, a community meeting room, a bookstore, and a collection of medical journals and newsletters. The bookstore will provide our community with the best books available on conventional and integrative health practices. We will also have a community meeting room for health-related activities like support groups, lectures and meditation.

We will continue to provide health information for people who are facing an illness, for their loved ones and for anyone who would like to learn more about healing and well-being. Many of these resources are unavailable or are hard to find on the Internet including medical and consumer health databases that enable you to research the latest studies, drug information and clinical practice guidelines.

The first Planetree Health Resource Center was founded at 2040 Webster in 1981. While the elimination of the lending library is a great loss, we look forward to much greater use of this facility through the addition of computer-based health resources, classroom, community meeting room, bookstore, and reading/lounge area.

Health & Healing Library Membership
For library patrons who purchased membership cards, we will offer a refund program. We will contact our library members directly with the details of the refund program.
