Chinese Medicine
Chinese Medicine is an ancient system of healing in which approaches such as acupuncture and the use of herbs help bring the patient back to a state of balance. Chinese Medicine can be helpful for many conditions including headaches, pain, stress, fatigue and digestive disorders and as a complement to Western cancer treatment. The Clinic offers Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as well as sessions based on Five Element Acupuncture Theory.

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese technique based on the belief that life-force, or “chi” flows through channels in the body known as meridians. Thin, solid needles are inserted at “reflex points” along these meridians to stimulate, disperse, and/or regulate the flow of chi. The goal is to restore a healthful energetic balance as well as to treat acute, chronic, and degenerative conditions.

Group Acupuncture
Traditional Chinese Medicine identifies hundreds of points on the ear and body that can be stimulated with acupuncture needles to bring health and balance to the body. Health situations that benefit from acupuncture include pain, weight management, stress, smoking cessation, insomnia, headaches, migraines and menopause. In a small group setting, you will receive the treatment which takes approximately an hour. Group sessions are Thursday afternoons from 4-6 pm. Cost is $35. (A snack or light meal is recommended prior to your appointment).

Chinese Herbs
Depending on their individual botanical properties, a wide assortment of Chinese herbs are used to assist specific health conditions and ailments. Chinese herbal therapies can be applied to help resolve everything from weak digestion to chronic pain and migraine headaches. We strongly recommend working with a practitioner when using Chinese herbs as diagnosis, treatment and the understanding of potential interactions requires a highly trained professional.

Acupressure
Instead of using needles to improve the movement of "chi" through the meridians, acupressure and other healing modalities are used to help clear emotional, mental and spiritual issues. This treatment combinesTaoist Five Element Acupuncture Theory with Bach Flower Essences and the vibration of tuning forks on specific acupuncture points to create a healing resonance in the body.
