Cancer is the challenge of a lifetime. From diagnosis through treatment and recovery, we partner with you to develop a personalized plan tailored to your individual needs and perspectives. Cancer and cancer-related pain are very commonly treated at the Health & Healing Clinic. Our board-certified physicians work with you to reduce treatment-related side effects and toxicity, enhance immune function, and to treat pain, fatigue, nausea, poor appetite, and more.

The Clinic specializes in Integrative Medicine, which is the combination of conventional medicine and complementary/holistic therapies. Our physicians work in consultation with your primary care physician or oncologist, and can provide them with a detailed report on the results of your visit and our recommendation for treatment.

Assessment
We begin with an integrative medicine assessment, which includes a review of your medical records and a discussion of your health history. The assessment gives us the time to get to know you and understand your needs, so we can create an integrative care plan together. If our physicians need additional input, they will bring your case to the entire clinical team for group discussion and recommendations.

Treatment
Our approach views cancer as a deeply personal journey. We make medical recommendations appropriate to your stage of treatment and desire for additional guidance and support.

New Diagnosis
Getting a cancer-diagnosis can be overwhelming. Many people feel lost, helpless, and confused. There may be weeks of appointments seeing doctors with different opinions. At the Health & Healing Clinic, we can help reduce stress, provide information, even help you determine your guiding principles for care and support – all to improve decision-making and help you and your family cope with the illness.

Supportive Care
Conventional medical treatments are often taxing, both physically and emotionally. Reducing treatment-related side effects can be helpful. Surgery preparation and recovery utilizing guided imagery and nutritional supplements is often successful as well. Pain management, immune-enhancement, dealing with difficult emotions, and improved energy and daily functioning are some other common ways we assist patients.

Successful cancer treatment does not end feelings of uncertainty. Our Clinic also provides many resources to assist you in the transition period after treatment ends.

In addition, the Health & Healing Center supports the program with high quality nutritional supplements, physician-selected books and tapes, numerous classes, a health information library, even a comprehensive group program for women with cancer.

Benefits
Many people have experienced the following benefits from our program:
• Reduced treatment-related side effects and toxicity
• Enhanced immune function
• Treatment of pain, fatigue, nausea and poor appetite
• Minimized stress and optimized resilience
• Improved physical comfort, health and well-being

Physician Team
