Compassionate Care at the Bedside

Whether you are at California Pacific Medical Center for a few days or longer, we are here to help you. Our practitioners provide you and your loved ones with a supportive and caring experience during your stay with us. Services are provided Monday through Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Gentle Massage

Press 1 for Gentle Massage
Our highly trained practitioners provide skilled touch at the bedside, a gentle and safe massage tailored to your individual needs. We help you achieve greater relaxation, deeper sleep and relief from pain and nausea. The first massage is free of charge, though donations are gratefully accepted. Subsequent sessions are offered at a minimal fee. Available on the Pacific and Davies campuses. For massage on the California campus, call 600-0500.

Guided Imagery & Expressive Arts

Press 2 for Guided Imagery & Expressive Arts
Guided Imagery can help you evoke images and sensations that create tranquil and calming feelings as well as focus your attention on your healing and recovery. Expressive Arts assists you in discovering forms of expression that capture your unique health journey as a way of fostering personal insights and supporting your healing process. These guided approaches can relieve pain, help with emotions like anxiety, lower stress, and alleviate insomnia. Free introductory sessions are available. No previous art experience necessary. Available on the Pacific, California and Davies campuses.

Spiritual Care

Press 3 for Chaplain/Spiritual Care
The challenge of illness can be frightening, but it can also become a vehicle of profound healing and awakening - physically, emotionally and spiritually. We are here for you, whether to hold your hand or celebrate your healing. Our chaplains are trained to compassionately attend to your spiritual and emotional needs as well as those of your loved ones. We offer care and support for people of all religious affiliations as well as those who follow no faith tradition. We can also connect you with a member of your faith community. Available on all four campuses, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Note: After hours, call the hospital operator (415-600-6000) to have a chaplain paged. Spiritual Care is provided at no cost and in several languages.

Holistic Nurse Consult

Press 5 for Holistic Nurse Consultation
If you or your family would like to learn about how to benefit from the in-hospital healing services, our holistic nurse is available to see you at the bedside or for a free 10-minute phone consultation. We can also provide you with information about our outpatient services, such as acupuncture, massage therapy, and nutritional counseling, and how they can support your recovery after you leave the hospital.

Healing Harp

Press 6 for Healing Harp Therapy
The harp has been used as a therapeutic instrument for thousands of years helping patients create an opening for healing in the body, mind, emotions, and spirit. Specific harp playing techniques geared toward individual patients have been shown to reduce pain, lower blood pressure, regulate breathing, relieve depression and anxiety, stimulate the immune system, and provide spiritual comfort. Healing Harp services are provided for patients in waiting rooms, hallways and patient rooms. Available at the Pacific Campus on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and at the Davies Campus on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
