From her own challenges with breast cancer and infertility, Lydia Barrett was inspired to manage her medical conditions utilizing integrative medicine practices, particularly those at the Institute for Health & Healing. Holistic healing therapies and practices combined with traditional Western medicine treatments made an incredible difference in her health and well-being, not only with the illnesses, but with her whole life.

A former marketing and technology executive, Lydia served in vice president and senior roles at Oracle, PeopleSoft, GMAC and Deloitte & Touche. She is now taking time off from her business career to focus energy on her strong belief in supporting healing and health through integrative medicine, which embraces the emotional, spiritual and physical aspects of health.

Her days are filled with activities with her two children, husband and family, as well as volunteer work with numerous health-related organizations. She is currently Co-Chair of the Institute for Health & Healing’s annual fundraising event “Celebrating Science & Soul.” Lydia began to write her story and its lessons as one way to help in her own healing and now regularly shares her story with community groups to bring healing and hope to people dealing with significant medical challenges.
