Celebrating Science & Soul generates donations to support the Institute for Health & Healing's work of healing people and transforming the practice of medicine. Every year the Institute touches the lives of more than 50,000 people, many through our scholarship fund and free programs at the bedside and in the Bay Area community. Pioneers in Integrative Medicine
As a leader in integrative medicine, the Institute for Health & Healing has long sought to honor international experts whose work is furthering the field through the Pioneers in Integrative Medicine award. The 2012 award goes to Rev. Cecil Williams and Janice Mirikitani for their work in helping to end the cycle of poverty and dependence in San Francisco.

Compassionate Service Award
The Compassionate Service Award honors those who have made extraordinary contributions to the health of our community. In 2012, we are privileged to honor Grace Dammann MD, for her ground-breaking and compassionate care with Bay Area AIDS patients.
