Marilen Wood

Marilen Wood, CMT is a certified massage therapist who developed her interest in massage and her sense of the healing power of touch early in life. She began working at the Institute for Health & Healing in 1996 as a volunteer, providing massage therapy to staff, hospitalized patients and their families. Marilen developed the Institute's Novato Community Hospital Clinic site in 2000 and continues to provide her services at both of our Marin sites. She works with people who have life-threatening illnesses, the elderly, athletes, pregnant women, and people wishing to reduce stress.

While Marilen’s technique is based in Swedish and deep tissue massage, she also incorporates Shiatsu and Reiki to create sessions that her clients find deeply relaxing and very therapeutic. In addition, she uses her training in pre-natal massage, oncology massage, and Lymph Drainage Technique to assist people with specialized bodywork needs. She is dedicated to the practice of massage as a vehicle for promoting good health and personal change.

Marilen works at the Institute's Marin locations in Greenbrae and Novato.
