Jennifer Sweeney
Jennifer Sweeney, CMT is a certified massage therapist who draws from her training in Swedish massage, acupressure and Shiatsu to create nurturing and restorative bodywork sessions tailored to her patients’ needs. An attentive listener to “the muscle as well as the mind,” Jennifer offers an integrated approach to promote healing, deep relaxation, and somatic ease.
Specialized training in massage for people living with cancer, combined with ongoing experience in providing massage for hospital patients, adds a further dimension to Jennifer’s practice. Her compassion, delicacy and healing spirit are especially vital in her work with patients who face daunting medical challenges, many of them women with breast cancer, as well as those who struggle with issues related to chronic stress, frequent illness or poor health.
Jennifer’s training began in England, at the London College of Massage, and continued in California at The Body Therapy Institute in Santa Barbara and the McKinnon Institute in Oakland. Her training in oncology massage took place at the Banner Desert Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ, and at Oregon Health and Science University, in Portland, OR.
Jennifer works at the Institute for Health & Healing in Marin and San Francisco.
