Other useful sections on the web site include a directory of medical resources, links to other sites organized by cancer type or topic, resources for media representatives, and information on the Society's research grants program, advocacy efforts, and special events.

    People Living With CancerOpens new window is the patient information website of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). PLWC provides timely, oncologist-approved information to help patients and families make informed health-care decisions. The site offers information on more than 50 types of cancer and their treatments, clinical trials, coping, and side effects to cancer treatments. Additional resources include Find an Oncologist database and patient support organizations.

    Research Sources

    Medline/PubMedOpens new window is the premier database used by health professionals and researchers containing references to 4,600 biomedical journals published in the US and 70 other countries from the 1940s to the present. Most records have English abstracts. Many recent records have links to full text articles that can be purchased for one-time use from the publisher, some full text articles are free.
