Insurance Coverage & Payment Policies
We are an integrative medicine clinic in San Francisco and Marin, and part of the Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation at California Pacific Medical Center. We see patients with acute and chronic conditions; we are not a primary care practice. We suggest you have a primary care physician prior to being seen in our clinic.
The Institute for Health & Healing Clinic can bill PPO & POS insurance and Medicare for medical visits, acupuncture, chiropractic and integrative psychotherapy. Please be aware that your insurance plan may not cover all of our services, and it may have a cap on the number of allowed visits for some treatments, like acupuncture, chiropractic and psychotherapy. We strongly encourage you to contact your insurance company to learn about your plan, co-pays and whether or not you have met your annual deductible.
Please bring your insurance identification card(s) with you on the day of your appointment. Co-payments are required at the time of service for all visits. The clinic accepts cash, personal checks, Visa and MasterCard.
Since nutrition, massage and bodywork, and skin care treatments are not typically covered benefits, payment in full is required at the time of your appointment. If you would like to seek reimbursement for these services from your insurance company, you can use our bill of service as documentation of your visit. Our front office staff is happy to explain this process should you need assistance.
All patients of the clinic are financially responsible for for any costs incurred that insurance refuses to pay. If you do not have insurance or if your insurance plan does not cover our services, you are still welcome to come to the clinic and pay our discounted self-pay rates.

Cancellation/Missed Appointment Policy
If it is necessary to reschedule or cancel your appointment, it is important for you to notify us as soon as possible. Because practitioner time has been dedicated to your appointment, we charge a $50 late cancellation or no-show fee if we do not receive notice a least 2 business days (48 hours) in advance of your appointment with a physician, nurse practitioner, nutritionist or acupuncturist, and 1 business day (24 hours) for bodywork, massage and skincare services.
