Mindfulness Meditation
Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction teaches you to use your inner resources to relieve stress or manage pain more effectively. You will learn practical mind and body awareness techniques including mindfulness meditation, breath work, and gentle yoga stretches. This program was developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD and is featured on the Bill Moyer’s special Healing and the Mind. Private individual instruction is also available.
Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction for Healthier Living
In this class you will learn mindfulness meditation that emphasizes moment-to-moment awareness. As you learn to observe your thoughts in a non-judgmental fashion, your mind is no longer on “auto pilot” and you are able to experience life more fully and respond more effectively. Participants regularly report decreased physical and psychological symptoms, an increased ability to cope with chronic pain and anxiety, improved self-esteem and a greater enthusiasm for life. First time meditation students are welcomed.
