Celebration of Life!
Friends and family gathered to celebrate the success of CPMC's VAD (Ventricular Assist Device) Program. 14 patients who are living and thriving with VADS had a "reunion" with many of the nurses and clinicians they met when they were in the hospital. Patients traveled from as far away as Redding, CA to "party" with their physicians and other members of the VAD team, some of whom are pictured below.
Although the oldest patient tranplanted with a VAD, at 79, could not be there, the youngest patient was: 17-year old Jinglun Situ, who was 16 at at the time of his implant.
