Who are we?
Pacific Vision Foundation (PVF) is a nonprofit foundation which supports the California Pacific Medical Center Department of Ophthalmology, where excellence in the diagnosis and treatment of serious eye disorders has been a tradition for over a century. Today, the Eye Department training program and faculty are ranked among the best in the country. Each year thousands of men, woman and children are referred to the Eye Department for help with serious eye problems. These patients come from every conceivable background and every corner of the globe.

Why we care
As our population ages, more and more people suffer from eye disease. The need for patient care, research and education programs supported by PVF will continue to grow. Your tax-deductible gift can mean the difference between blindness and sight. The research, training and patient care PVF supports hold great promise for patients today and even greater promise in the future.

Pacific Vision Foundation's Areas of Focus

  • Medical training for tomorrow's ophthalmologists

  • Continuing education for eye professionals in Northern California

  • Clinical research to bring the latest advances directly to patients

    Contributions
Donors can direct their contributions to specific research and/or education interest in ophthalmic fields, such as glaucoma, cornea, retina, low vision, diabetic retinopathy, neuro-ophthalmology, pathology, pediatric ophthalmology or macular degeneration. Gifts can be designated to the work of a specific doctor. Gifts to PVF help sustain the treasure of vision in each of these ways: No tax dollars are available to fund these programs, the Eye Department depends entirely upon charitable contributions. You can help provide the means to carry on this important work.

    Volunteers
PVF consists of a Board of Trustees who provides stewardship and promotes our interests through guidance of a small and efficient staff as well as fundraising. Trustees represent ophthalmic, medical, business and legal communities in the Bay Area. Our volunteer to staff ratio is approximately 12:1.
