Guided Imagery & Relaxation for Surgery Patients
Guided imagery is the process of focusing the mind, accessing intuition, exploring emotions and deepening inner awareness.
Research has indicated that guided imagery can reduce anxiety, decrease pain and shorten length of hospital stays. Studies have also shown that patients who are calm and relaxed recover more quickly from surgery.
The Institute for Health & Healing,
in cooperation with Surgical Services at California Pacific Medical Center, provides surgical patients with a recorded relaxation and imagery session. This tool is designed to evoke images supportive of surgery preparation and recovery. It will guide you in a meditation to focus your mind and explore your inner awareness.

Please note: Guided imagery is a therapeutic tool--not a substitute for medical treatment. Do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
We also offer one-on-one guided imagery sessions, free holistic nurse consultations and appointments with integrative medicine physicians.
