The Forbes Norris MDA/ALS Research Center provides comprehensive multidisciplinary diagnostic and treatment services for ALS patients throughout the course of the disease. Our experienced, knowledgeable staff is committed to providing the highest level of patient care to effectively manage all disease aspects. The ALS team includes specialists in neurology, pulmonology, rehabilitation medicine, specialty nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, social work, and nutrition.
Each team member consults individually with patients addressing specific needs and developing a personal and effective therapeutic program enabling people to live their lives longer with dignity, while enjoying a greater quality of life. Our dedicated staff coordinates efforts between its patient care, clinical research, and basic science research programs, creating a multifaceted resource for patients with ALS throughout the course of the illness. This gives the Norris ALS Center a unique advantage in expediting the testing of new and potential clinical treatments for ALS patients. Interested ALS patients are evaluated for acceptance into any ongoing clinical trials for research experimental treatment.
