CPMCRI Training and Education in Research
One of our key priorities at the California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute lies in training the next generation of clinician-scientists.
The CPMC Research Institute (CPMCRI) offers resources for residents and fellows at CPMC who are motivated to gain research experience and training, including opportunities to design and conduct their own research projects with CPMCRI clinical and basic science research faculty.
Our investigators are actively involved in training and mentoring international and U.S. medical students and PhD candidates in clinical research, via the CPMCRI Clinical Research Fellowship Program.
The program—which offers an international clinical research experience for students from U.S. medical schools, the University of Copenhagen and Aarhus University in Denmark—was developed to:
- Provide its fellows ten months of training in clinical trials, epidemiology, health economics and health services research, as well as translational research.
- Foster enduring teaching and research collaborations between partner organizations, taking advantage of the relative strengths of each.
