    American Stroke Association's Gold Performance Achievement Award (2011)

    California Pacific received the American Stroke Association's Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke Gold Performance Achievement Award by reaching the goal of treating stroke patients with 85% or higher compliance to core standard levels of care.

    NCDR Action Registry-GWTG Gold Performance Achievement Award (2011)

    California Pacific Medical Center has received the American College of Cardiology Foundation’s NCDR ACTION Registry–GWTG Gold Performance Achievement Award for 2011 – one of only 167 hospitals nationwide to do so.

    Top performers on key quality (2011)

    California Pacific Medical Center was named one of the nation’s top performers on key quality measures by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care organizations in America. The Joint Commission recognition is based on data reported about evidence-based clinical processes that are shown to improve care for certain conditions, including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care and children’s asthma. To be recognized as a top performer on key quality measures an organization must meet two 95 percent performance thresholds.

    Leapfrog Top Hospital (2010)

    For the fifth year in a row, California Pacific has been recognized by the Leapfrog Group as one of the Top Hospitals in the nation for Quality and Safety. We are one of only three hospitals in the nation to be included in this prestigious list for fifth consecutive years. This voluntary survey of more than 1,200 hospitals in 41 states provides the most complete picture of hospital quality and safety available in the U.S. For more details, go to the Leapfrog Group site.

    Best Hospitals for Gastrointestinal Disorders (2010)

    California Pacific was named one of America's Best Hospitals for Gastrointestinal Disorders by U.S. News & World Report. CPMC Gastroenterology Department ranked 44th in the nation, gaining high marks for its physicians, its nurses and its much higher than average survival rates.

    NCQA Back Pain Recognition Program (2007)

    Four of our neurosurgeons at the California Pacific Neuroscience Institute received the Physician Recognition Award from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) - Back Pain Recognition Program (BPRP). NCQA recognizes physicians who deliver superior care to millions of Americans who suffer from low back pain.

    VHA West Coast Performance Awards (2007)

    California Pacific was selected for six Voluntary Hospitals of America (VHA) West Coast Performance Awards in 2007. The awards included those for outstanding performance in heart attack, congestive heart failure (CHF), and surgical care. VHA also recognized our Community Benefit programs, which are designed to meet the unique needs of our community. California Pacific was also recognized for our outstanding achievement in Clinical Performance Improvement and High Reliability. VHA is an alliance of more than 2,400 non-profit health care organizations, including 1,400 hospitals.

    Primary Stroke Center Certification (2006)

    California Pacific was certified by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center in December 2006. This certification demonstrates our commitment to excellence in stroke management. We make exceptional efforts and exceed national standards and guidelines in significantly improving outcomes for stroke patients. There are almost 300 certified Primary Stroke Centers currently in the United States and we are one of only two certified centers in San Francisco.

    Accreditation by the Society of Chest Pain Centers (2006)

    The Society of Chest Pain Centers is a patient-centric, non-profit, international organization focused on improving care for patients with acute coronary syndromes and other maladies. It inaugurated an accreditation process through which they evaluate Chest Pain Centers across the country in order to ensure that these centers meet or exceed quality-of-care measures in acute cardiac medicine. Accreditation was granted to California Pacific in May 2006.
