    Introduction

I am senior scientist and the scientific director of an integrated citywide graduate medical education program in radiation oncology. My radiobiology laboratory at California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute is located at California campus. Our research work includes study of novel second-generation taxol and camptothecin derivatives, development of new anticancer drugs, chemoradiosensitizing agents, and investigation of mechanisms of drug action. Several lead and promising taxol analogs and one novel camptothecin derivative we studied are now entering clinical trials. We are interested in the study of molecular mechanisms of their striking action against cancer cells and other exciting compounds in overcoming the problem of multidrug resistance of cancer cells
