Warren S. Browner, M.D., MPH
Warren S. Browner, M.D., MPH is currently the Vice-President Academic Affairs at California Pacific Medical Center and the Scientific Director of California Pacific's Research Institute. Additionally, Dr. Browner is an Adjunct Professor of Medicine, and Epidemiology & Biostatistics, at the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine, and the Executive Editor of the American Journal of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco and his MPH in Epidemiology from the University of California, Berkeley.
Dr. Browner's current research focuses on human longevity and frailty, identifying genetic markers for longevity as well as slowing the aging process. Dr. Browner has also been interested in the association between osteoporosis and other diseases, including atherosclerosis and breast cancer. His current research studies include "Risk Factors for Hip and Colles' Fractures," a multicenter prospective study of the predictors of osteoporotic fractures; "Depression and Coronary Heart Disease," a cohort study to determine why depression is associated with a worse prognosis in patients with heart disease; and "A Consortium to Investigate Human Longevity and Frailty," a consortium of longitudinal studies to identify genetic markers for longevity.
