At the California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute, researchers in the behavioral sciences have been making great strides in understanding some of the basics of the mind-body connection. Their studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of behavioral interventions including counseling, guided imagery, yoga and meditation, and group therapy in the treatment breast cancer.

Understanding the impact of illness on humans, patients and their families, as well as how personal attitudes and psychosocial attributes influence the course of disease are important outcomes of these researchers.
