    Our Library Users

    The library is available to staffs, students, alumni, Medical Staff and Faculty affiliated with California Pacific Medical Center or the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.

    The Institute for Health and Healing Resource Center Library, located on the Pacific Campus of California Pacific Medical Center at 2040 Webster Street, is open to patients and families and the public.

    Library Orientation

    Orientation and Training in Use of Library Collections and Resources:
    Informal one-on-one or group training in the use of library facilities and print or electronic resources is available. Library staff will provide in-service training in departments, clinics, laboratories and classrooms on request.

    Circulation

    Except for reference materials and certain reserve books; books, journals, and audiovisual materials circulate for up to two weeks. Overdue fines may be assessed. If materials are lost or damaged, replacement costs, overdue charges, and a $10.00 processing fee will be charged.

    Document Delivery

    Copy Service:
    Library Staff will make reprints from in-house library collections within copyright guidelines to members of the medical staff and faculty and chief residents. There is a 2-4 days turn-around time.

    Self-serve photocopying is available to all patrons. Please reshelve your own materials when you are finished.

    Copy cards are also available in $5, $10 and more denominations.

    Interlibrary Loan:
    Materials including monographs, journal articles and audiovisual materials not available from in-house collections may be requested from another libraries. Charges for this service range from free-of-charge up to $12.00 per transaction. Rush or fax services may involve additional charges.

    Copyright Notice: Due to copyright restrictions there are limits to the number of articles that the library can copy from any particular journal title. Once this limit has been reached any further articles will be ordered from a document delivery company. This will allow the copyright fee to be paid for each article. Charges will vary but will be more than the regular interlibrary loan rate.

    Research/Reference

    Access to various information sources is available to all patrons. Library staff will perform research and mediated literature searches on request online by phone at 600-3240, or by email at cpmclib@sutterhealth.org.

    Archival Access

    Access to the California Pacific Medical Center archival and historic collections is available to authorized users by appointment. Please call 600-3240 or email library staff to schedule an appointment for access to these materials.
