Residency Programs
Pediatrics
Clinical Activities
Residents rotate through the Pediatric Ward, the General Pediatric Clinic and the Pediatric Specialty Clinic. Each resident has one to two half-days per week of Continuity Clinic which takes place in the hospital's outpatient clinic.
Subspecialty rotations emphasize what the general pediatrician needs to know to successfully coordinate the management of chronic and complex diseases. Particular emphasis is put on the outpatient care of these children and their families. All clinical activities take place in a managed care setting. This provides residents with ongoing education in the economics of medicine today.
Our Outreach Clinics in subspecialty and general pediatrics are located in San Francisco and throughout Northern California. These experiences give residents the opportunity to care for children from a wide range of socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds with a diversity of medical problems.
