Pediatric Residency Program
Residency Program Site Director
Molly Linehan, M.D.
California Pacific is a site of training for UCSF's Pediatric house staff and medical students. There are four to six residents assigned to California Pacific at all times.
The Pediatric Training Program at California Pacific has a full range of inpatient and outpatient services where residents have extensive one-to-one contact with attending physicians. Residents acquire a strong foundation in general pediatrics, including knowledge of child health maintenance, the impact of acute and chronic disease on the child and family, pathophysiologic mechanisms involved in disease states and options available for treatment. Our primary goal is to prepare residents to practice pediatrics in a changing health care environment.
The program offers an excellent balance between general and subspecialty pediatrics. The faculty includes full-time hospital-based general pediatricians as well as a large number of San Francisco's private pediatricians. Residents regularly work with these practicing pediatricians in the hospital as well as in private offices. Attending faculty in our subspecialty divisions help to provide a well-rounded educational experience for all trainees.
