    Dr. Rona Z. Silkiss is the Chief of Ophthalmic Plastic, Reconstructive and Orbital Surgery at the California Pacific Medical Center. She is an associate clinical professor of Ophthalmology at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Silkiss is board certified in Ophthalmology and Pediatrics. She additionally is fellowship trained in Oculofacial Plastic, Reconstructive and Orbital Surgery. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and American College of Surgeons.

    Dr. Silkiss received her BS and MD at Northwestern University. She received her Ophthalmology and Oculofacial plastic training at the Jules Stein Eye Institute.

    Since 1988, Dr. Silkiss has maintained a diverse Oculofacial plastic surgical practice in San Francisco and the East Bay. During this time she has created a bridge between clinical medical practice and the biotechnology community through cooperative research projects. She is the Principal Investigator of several research projects studying markers and therapeutic agents for the treatment of orbital and periorbital disease.

    Dr. Silkiss finds great joy in teaching the residents and fellows at CPMC. She understands that each resident and fellow has unique talents and abilities that are realized and developed while they are in training at CPMC.
