RESEARCH

Up to one month per year of training can be spent on Program Director approved research projects. Current research projects by residents include Wilson Disease, GI dysmotility, association between HIV infection and atherosclerosis, medical education, and the epidemiology of colon cancer. We also tend to encourage our residents to participate in small "do-able" projects like retrospective reviews or case reports, or to submit abstracts for national or regional meetings on innovative aspects of our training program or interesting patients.

The California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute includes 14 physician scientists and many PhDs.
