Internal Medicine

Research

Up to one month per year of training can be spent on Program Director approved research projects. While current research projects by residents include "bench-top" Hepatitis C research and gene therapy, we tend to encourage our residents to do small "do-able" projects like retrospective reviews or case reports, or to submit abstracts for national meetings on innovative aspects of our training program.

The California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute includes 14 physician scientists and many PhDs. The Research Institute is in the top 15% of NIH institutions in terms of grants.
