Joyce Hansen, MD, Director, Ambulatory Education
Dr. Hansen has been the Director of Ambulatory Training at California Pacific since l982. In addition, Dr. Hansen is the Administrative Director of Adult Medicine at the California Pacific Family Health Center. She is a graduate of Baylor College of Medicine.
Since coming to California Pacific, Dr. Hansen has been an active member of the medical staff. She is a member of the medical center's Medical Ethics Committee and its Physician Advisory Council. She was on the Board of Directors and served as Vice President of Childrens's Hospital Medical Group. She was also on the Board of Directors of the Brown and Toland Medical Group and is currently the Chairperson of the Wellness Advisory Council for Brown and Toland. She has an active practice in General Internal Medicine, in addition to her teaching and administrative responsibilities.
Dr. Hansen has a long-standing interest in the interface between psychiatry and medicine. She helped develop a resident seminar on physician and patient communication that is ongoing. She lectures widely on primary care topics.
