Tom Baudendistel, MD, FACP, Associate Program Director
Dr. Baudendistel graduated from Duke University Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa and then attended medical school at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency and Chief Residency at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). After his chief residency, he joined the faculty at UCSF as an Assistant Clinical Professor and Hospitalist and was the recipient of the distinguished UCSF Medicine House Staff Teaching Award in 2002.
Dr. Baudendistel joined California Pacific Medical Center in 2002 as the Associate Program Director and hospitalist. He co-edited the textbook First Aid for Internal Medicine Boards, published in 2005, with the secnd edition due in 2008. He remains active in the Society of Hospitalist Medicine as the recent Chair of their national Ethics committee and is an Assistant Editor for the Journal of Hospital Medicine. He is also active in the the American College of Physicians and has lectured throughout the United States on a wide range of ethical, urgent care and hospitalist topics. He won First Place in the Clinical Vignette competition at the 2002 meeting of the National Association of Inpatient Physicians.
