Fellowship Program
Gastroenterology and Hepatology
Michael Verhille, M.D., Program Director
Gastroenterology at California Pacific Medical Center is an extremely exciting and fast-growing division. Training in GI encompasses all areas of modern clinical and academic gastroenterology. The program has strong components of Interventional Endoscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound, ERCP, Motility Service, Liver Diseases, and Transplantation.
There is, in addition to active full service general GI service, a newly active Inflammatory Bowel Diseases service. This allows very broad experience in gastroenterology. There is an extremely broad research effort in GI at CPMC. It exposes the fellows to a strong academic focus. The fellowship will produce a thoughtful, critical and well-informed consultant in gastroenterology.
The fellow will also acquire all the cognitive skills of the modern endoscopist. The program is flexible and provides close exposure to the program director and faculty in gastroenterology.
The program consists of three years of clinical and investigative activity. Applicants must have completed three years of approved internal medicine training and be licensed to practice in California.
