The CPMC Residents and Fellows Research Program is a unique opportunity for residents and fellows to pursue research during their time at the medical center. The goals of the program are to help residents and fellows gain a deeper understanding of the medical literature in the chosen focus area, to understand new technologies/ developments related to that area, and to obtain a better general understanding of clinical research methodology and the interaction between research and clinical medicine.

California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute creates an active partnership between clinicians and researchers, merging research institute interests with the needs of the medical center. Both laboratory and clinical researchers work within the Research Institute and the Medical Center. Some of these scientists are engaged in clinical research and clinical trials and others are engaged in research that will help us understand the function of certain human cells, genes, proteins and other fundamental structures within our bodies.
