    Salaries & Benefits

    Employment Benefits

    Health/Disability Insurance
House staff are eligible for medical, dental and vision coverage. House staff can enroll in the Blue Cross HMO or Health Net HMO or Blue Cross PPO. The Medical Center's standard dental and vision plans are available at no monthly premium charge. Dependents may also be covered under these plans at no charge. House staff may elect to enroll in the Medical Center's special dental plan. There is a monthly premium charge for the special dental paln.

We also provide residents with Long-term Disability Insurance at no cost. If you qualify, this plan can pay up to 66.67 percent of monthly earnings, not to exceed a maximum monthly benefit of $7,500, following a 30-day elimination period.

    Professional Liability Insurance
Residents are provided with professional liability insurance, but only while acting within the scope of their duties at California Pacific or other assigned rotations.

    Vacations, Holidays and Leaves
Residents receive three weeks (15 working days) vacation for each twelve-month period. Vacations are to be pre-planned and scheduled with the Residency Program Administrator.

State disability benefits for non-work related illness, pregnancy or injury are provided under the law. Parental leave, bereavement leave, jury duty and military leave are legitimate leaves of absence from house staff duties; however, these must be scheduled in conjunction with each individual department

    Counseling Services
The complex society in which we live presents challenges and difficulties for each of us. Recognizing the importance of receiving support and understanding during these times, California Pacific offers a wide range of counseling services as well as a referral service for all employees. In addition, members of the Department of Psychiatry are available to residents, their spouses or family members if psychiatric evaluation or treatment is required. Information discussed in any of the programs is viewed as confidential and will not be discussed with attending physicians.
