| The Gynecological (GYN) Cancer Recovery Program at the Women's Health Resource Center can assist women undergoing treatment for uterine, ovarian, cervical, vaginal, vulvar and peritoneal cancer. The programs begins with a complimentary session with the coordinator of the GYN Cancer Recovery Program, a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. She will help you prepare for treatment by providing education, emotional support, resources and referrals, as appropriate, to members of our special team. These include: education on chemotherapy and radiation symptom management; education on surgical/medical menopause management; immediate access to hairpieces, turbans, scarves and hats for use during periods of temporary hair loss due to treatment; cosmetic and skin care counseling; social services, support groups, guided imagery; and nutritional counseling. | ||
