Jumpstart January: Tools for living mindfully in the modern world
How can we bring mindfulness into our daily lives, whether the tool is a meditation practice or the latest health app? You’ll learn how your thoughts keep you stuck in old patterns, and how to apply this knowledge to support healthy living, including using the latest apps in fitness, mindfulness, sleep, and nutrition.
"Jumpstart January: Tools for living mindfully in the modern world"
Mark Coleman, MA will talk about implementing mindfulness in daily life, and specifically about how to work constructively with negative self-judgment. Drawing on his newly released book "Make Peace With Your Mind: How Mindfulness and Compassion can help free you from the inner critic", Mark will outline what the "inner critic" is and how it manifests. He will explore practical and accessible techniques that allow you to work with the critical voice within so that you can live mindfully in the present moment with self-acceptance, compassion and peace. Mindfulness techniques have been proven to help improve physical health in a number of ways including stress relief, lowering of blood pressure, chronic pain, sleep, eating disorders, depression, and anxiety disorders.
Ronesh Sinha, MD will explain how he prescribes apps, devices and tools that help patients create balance in their often busy, stressful lives. You will learn about scientifically sound apps for optimal sleep, cardio health, daily fitness, meditation practices, brain health, and stress reduction. Find out how to integrate these and other tools into your daily life. Explore how your belief systems can limit your ability to make and sustain healthy lifestyle choices.
