William S. Andereck, Jr. MD is the honored recipient of California Pacific Medical Center Foundation's award for Outstanding Physician Donor in 2005, and Outstanding Physician as Fundraiser in 2002 and 2005.
Dr. Andereck has practiced General Internal Medicine in San Francisco since 1979, and currently serves as the Medical Director of California Pacific Medical Center’s Program in Medicine and Human Values. Since 1985, Dr. Andereck has been Chair of the California Pacific Medical Center Institutional Ethics Committee. He lectures widely on ethical and economic issues and leads a monthly program in Medical Ethics for the Medical residents at California Pacific.
Staying active in the community
In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Andereck has volunteered on the San Francisco Medical Society’s Board of Directors for over 10 years. For two consecutive terms (1995 and 1996) he has also served as editor of San Francisco Medicine, the monthly magazine of the Medical Society, and since 1985, has published and edited Hotline, a newsletter for physicians dealing with managed care contracting. On a statewide basis, he has served on the California Medical Association’s Council on Ethical Affairs since 1990.
Dr. Andereck is a physician who generously contributes his time and finances to our Foundation. He is known to be a great support to the Board with a willingness to assist in any and every way possible. It is our privilege to honor Dr. Andereck as our 2005 Outstanding Physician as Fundraiser and Outstanding Physician Donor.
