Employee Giving Spotlight:

Employee donations truly show how valuable California Pacific Medical Center is to our community
Why I Give
Donating to CPMC Foundation is a perfect way to “give at home,” and I contribute to the Nursing Education Fund in memory of a co-worker, an RN who died in a car accident.
I’ve also contributed to the Pulmonary Care/Cystic Fibrosis Research Fund because it’s something close to my heart. I’ve cared for numerous cystic fibrosis patients. They are generally admitted for two to three weeks at a time, and I become part of their family. Sometimes I’m like a “second mother” to the young adult patients. Recently, I had the delightful experience of attending the wedding of one of our cystic fibrosis patients – a testament to the fact that, with research, these young peoples’ lives are being extended dramatically.
About My Work at CPMC
I don’t remember what prompted it, but I made the decision to become a nurse when I was in the eighth grade. It was the right choice, because I still enjoy being able to care for someone – to make a difference – whether it’s sustaining a life or nurturing a patient and family at the end of life.
My entire 38-year career has been with CPMC, and I’ve worked with some amazing people and developed life-long friendships with co-workers. I currently work at the Pacific Campus where I’m a Clinical Nurse III and the Charge Nurse on 5-North. Over the years, CPMC has given me the opportunity to serve on various committees, allowing me to take an active part in many changes that have occurred here.
Because life is precious, we encourage giving to life and a lifetime of giving.
