CPMC Foundation’s Annual Priorities, which we hope you will consider supporting
CPMC's Women and Children's Centers are renowned for the excellent services we provide. Whether you are preparing to deliver your first baby, bringing your child to San Francisco’s only Pediatric Emergency Department, or being treated at our highly acclaimed Breast Health Centers, rest assured you are in good hands. Of note is CPMC's recent collaboration with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, which will bring their world-class specialists to our facilities to perform surgeries and conduct outpatient clinics.

Annual Priorities in Women & Children's Services:

Birthing Beds for Labor & Delivery
The need: $86,000
More than 6,000 babies enter the world at CPMC each year. Your gift will provide a safer, more comfortable experience for the expectant mother, as well as her labor and delivery team.
Retina Camera for Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
The need: $115,000
Your support will help our specialists diagnose and treat vision problems in premature babies and other young children, preserving the precious sight of our smallest patients.
Perinatal Treatment Program
The need: $250,000
Postpartum depression has an adverse effect on a mother’s health—and her ability to bond with her baby. It can also lead to longer-term problems for the child including sleeping difficulties, hyperactivity, and delayed development. By supporting this program, you could help as many as 1,000 local women who struggle with this condition each year.
Child Life Program for Pediatric Specialty Center
The need: $94,000
Child Life SpecialistsOpens new window are experts at easing the fears of young children (and their families) while they receive medical treatment, explaining what is happening in terms kids can understand. Your gift will help fund another one of these invaluable specialists to help children receiving outpatient specialty care.
Bayview Child Health Center
The need: $800,000
This neighborhood suffers from escalating rates of pediatric obesity and diabetes , the City’s highest rate of childhood asthma , and an infant mortality rate among the worst in California. Your support will help CPMC's Bayview Child Health CenterOpens new window provide affordable primary, acute and preventive care services for thousands of medically underserved children in the Bayview-Hunters Point community.
Your support for Bayview Child Health Center will also assist the Center as it co-locates and partners with the new Center for Youth WellnessOpens new window and the San Francisco Child Advocacy Center to create an innovative approach to providing a full spectrum of services designed around the whole child under one roof.
Kalmanovitz Child Development Center
The need: $350,000
Your gift enables CPMC's Kalmanovitz Child Development CenterOpens new window to continue providing diagnosis, evaluation, treatment and counseling for children with learning disabilities, developmental disorders, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and autism spectrum disorders.
3D Mammography Upgrade
The need: $1,500,000
Your gift will help make sophisticated 3D digital mammography available to more than 50,000 women every year, through CPMC's Breast Health CentersOpens new window. This could lead to earlier detection of cancers before they spread beyond the breast tissue, which has been shown to dramatically decrease five-year mortality rates—from 15 percent down to just one percent.
African American and Sister-to-Sister Breast Health Programs
The need: $150,000
Women in at-risk populations survive breast cancer at lower rates than women with regular access to quality care. Philanthropic support ensures that successful programs such as CPMC's African American & Sister-to-Sister Breast Health ProgramsOpens new window will continue to provide outreach, education and a wide range of clinical screenings and treatments to vulnerable women, regardless of their ability to pay.
Women’s Health Resource Center
The need: $100,000
Your support enables CPMC's Women’s Health Resource CenterOpens new window to continue to provide more than 10,000 women each year with a place to obtain health information, resources for well-being through classes and support groups, and compassionate care for women with cancer.
