- Paul S. May
CPMC lost a generous and compassionate friend when Paul S. May passed away on September 12, 2013. Together with Frank Stein, Paul made numerous gifts over the past decade that helped improve the lives of CPMC patients with gastrointestinal ailments, low vision, and cardiac conditions.
- Ray Dolby
An American inventor recognized around the world for developing groundbreaking audio technologies, Ray Dolby died on September 12 at his home in San Francisco, at the age of 80.
- Dr. John N. Callander
Longtime CPMC physician and CPMC Foundation Trustee, John N. Callander, MD, died on June 9, 2013 at the age of 90. Known by patients and colleagues for his kindness and compassion, Dr. Callander had a long history of being a strong advocate for both the Medical Center and the Foundation.
- William R. Payden
A generous philanthropic partner of CPMC’s Center for Melanoma Research and Treatment, Bill Payden died on June 5, 2013. We were proud to count Bill among our friends and will miss him greatly.
- Jack Bailey
It was with great sadness when CPMC announced that Jack Bailey had died on Sunday, September 9, 2012. Jack served for 15 years as CPMC's Executive Vice President. Gifts made in honor of Jack will benefit the "Jack Bailey Memorial Fund for Coming Home Hospice."
- Dr. Damian Augustyn
Dr. Damian Augustyn died on October 3, 2012 at the age of 60. Damian was married for 35 years to his beloved wife Dr. Caroline Craig Augustyn, who died in May 2012. A leader in his field for 30 years, he served at CPMC as Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Chief of the Medical Staff and a member of the Medical Executive Committee and Board of Directors of Sutter West Bay Hospitals.
- Dr. Caroline Augustyn
Dr. Caroline Augustyn, CPMC physician and wife of Dr. Damian Augustyn, died on May 10, 2012 after a long struggle with breast cancer. At CPMC, she was dedicated to providing the most attentive care to her patients. Those wishing to honor Caroline Augustyn may send donations in her name to CPMC Foundation.
- Lori Walker
Lori Walker, an ovarian cancer patient at CPMC, died at the age 40 in October 2012. During Lori's treatment, she rode her bicycle 100 miles to raise $10,000 for the Gynecological Cancer Recovery Program at CPMC’s Women’s Health Resource Center. You can help support the program that provided Lori with great comfort throughout her cancer treatment.
In Honor Of
Make a tribute gift in honor of your loved one, commemorate a holiday, birth, marriage or anniversary of a life event, or express gratitude to a doctor, nurse or caregiver. Tributees or their families will be notified at your request.
- National Nurses Week
is celebrated May 6-12, but you can always make a gift in honor of a special nurse.
- Doctors' Day
is commemorated nationwide on March 30th, but a tribute gift in honor of your doctor can be made anytime throughout the year.
- Tiny Treasure Tributes program
Commemorate a birth, or make a tribute to a special child. Your gift will lend critical support to Women’s and Children’s Services at California Pacific Medical Center.
