Nobody seems more fragile than a newborn infant. For each infant who arrives in the world there is a change in temperature and humidity, new sounds and movement - a brand new environment. Nothing keeps a baby more stable than the bed warmers for newborns, which provide temperature stability as the newborn is weighed, cleaned and begins to thrive. You are invited to help purchase up to ten infant warmer beds to cradle CPMC’s tiniest patients. For your generosity, parents and grandparents will certainly thank you.

Birthing Beds for Labor and Delivery

Funding Need: $79,097 ($14,447 per bed)

The birth of a baby is a demanding event. Doctors and nurses need to respond quickly and efficiently, particularly in an emergency. The Affinity 4 birthing bed has many ergonomic and safety features, including a foot section that slides with one quick movement of the hand. The streamlined design stores all equipment within the bed’s perimeter rather than protruding out. And because a woman’s labor is exhausting and can last many hours, the bed’s mattress is specially-designed for childbirth, redistributing body pressure to minimize discomfort. Your gift will create a safer, less-challenging birthing experience for the expectant mother as well as her Labor and Delivery team.
