Paul S. May and Frank Stein
2006 OUTSTANDING INDIVIDUAL DONORS
CIRCLES OF GIVING HONOREES
Paul S. May and Frank Stein—longtime partners in their former hotel and motel supply business and real estate ventures—have made exceptional financial commitments to California Pacific for several years via a combination of outright and planned gifts. Their philanthropy, which culminated in a major contribution in 2006, focused on fighting cancer of the pancreas, a painful and deadly disease that unfortunately has struck both of their immediate families.
Their altruistic spirit and extraordinary vision established an unprecedented level of support of the complex digestive disease program at California Pacific, and resulted in the creation of the Paul May and Frank Stein Center for Interventional Endoscopy, set to open in the Fall of 2007. This new Center will house a dedicated team of acclaimed endoscopists, researchers, surgeons and clinicians and will allow the Medical Center’s Interventional Endoscopy Program to set itself apart from any other in the nation.
Their hope, which CPMC plans to make a reality, is that the new Paul May and Frank Stein Center for Interventional Endoscopy will be a tremendous help to the people who are afflicted with pancreatic cancer or other complex digestive diseases.
