Radiation Oncology 4D CT Simulator

Funding Need: $1,330,000

In radiation therapy, one size does not fit all. Each patient requires a unique set of measurements: how many beams of radiation need to be sent, and from which direction should they emanate to best target the tumor and avoid healthy tissue - not just one time, but identically, every time during the treatment series. CPMC’s CT Simulator that performs this “fitting” is near the end of its life span. Your gift for the new version will mean more detailed images and less time on the table for the patient. Also, the new simulator’s wider opening will more comfortably accommodate patients of all sizes during this first step in the treatment process.

at St. Luke’s - funding completed!

We did it! Thanks to your generosity in 2011, we raised $750,000 to purchase equipment for the St. Luke's Breast Health Center!

It’s startling. Low-income women have low screening rates and are 41% more likely to be diagnosed with late-stage breast cancer. The majority of families within the St. Luke’s service area live below the poverty threshold. CPMC wants to do all it can to promote early diagnosis and treatment for this underserved community. Currently, St. Luke’s Breast Health Center is equipped with analog technology – our goal is to upgrade to digital mammography. Thanks to our generous donors, in only three months, we raised the $750,000 needed for Digital Mammography Equipment at St. Luke's, ensuring that all our community’s women seeking breast health care at CPMC receive the full benefits of leading-edge mammography.
