Angelina's Story

Born in 1981, Angelina was raised in Pacifica and graduated from Mercy High School in Burlingame, and was in the Presidential Scholar Program at San Francisco State, graduating in 2003. She interned with Central County and San Mateo Fire Departments, and completed an Associate Degree in Fire Science. As Safety Inspector for the North County Fire Authority she was proud to be part of the fire department camaraderie and fulfill a long time dream. Angelina always put others before herself, and did so with her famous smile. In June 2007 she was diagnosed with melanoma. From that pont on, she fought with incredible grace, courage and tenacity; enduring surgeries, radiation, conventional and experimental forms of cancer treatment. Unfortunately on October 29, 2008, at the age of 27, she lost the battle. Everyone who know Angelina was inspired by her all too brief life. She left an impression on everyone's heart and will never be forgotten.

Because life is precious, we encourage giving to life and a lifetime of giving.
